We had an interesting challenge this Halloween – creating a mask for a friend of ours. He wished for Groot from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” . Here is the result:
Paper-mashing was the technique, and for decoration we used natural materials, such as real moss from actual trees:
It was a short deadline for a slow-drying, hard-to-form process, such as paper mashing, but we managed to finish it on time:
Plus, all those kids stopping by our window saying: “Hey, this is Groot!” were priceless indicators that we were doing the right thing and doing it the right way.

GG Sisters is part of the initiative “Kapana Creative District” organized by Municipal Foundation Plovdiv 2019.
The ”Mountain Stone” bag looks like a heavy rock, which has been brought down from the mountains, but it actually weighs less than a kilo. Dimensions are, as follows: 27 x 22 x 17 (centimeters). It has been sculptured and designed by hand, using a special technique, which is our own invention and we are very proud of it.
It is much like paper mashing, but using different materials in a more complex way. There are several stages of production and multiple layers. Fortified by textile strings and plaster for durability. It’s waterproof, due to the acrylic varnish, used to protect the bags’ surfaces both outside and inside. Varnish helps protect them also from scratches.
There is a nice application of ghosts, black cats and bats on the inside, created by decoupage. The handle is a textile strip – removable, in case you decide to replace it with another one. You can adjust its length (now 130 cm) according to your height and preferences. The shutter is attached to the front and back by textile bands.
The lock is plastic, light and very easy to operate. Many things can be put in this realistic, “Mountain Stone” bag. We recommend using a purse organizer or a soft, knitted hat for convenience.
Even Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble will envy you for this bag!

Another one of our “stone” purses. This time it looks like a meteorite. Handmade and unique, as everything else we create. It took a long and complicated process of sculpturing and designing this beauty by hand, but the end result is amazing – a “meteorite” hanging right from your shoulder!
Nice, elegant and classy. Very suitable for nightclubs, restaurants and bars where the purpose is to be seen. It is smaller than our other “stone” bags. Dimensions are: 20cm x 12 cm x 17 cm. Well, meteorites burn in the atmosphere, so that’s why the main colors are different shades of grey.
The “meteorite” purse is water resistant and durable. You can enjoy it for a very long time. It has been covered with acrylic varnish, in order protect the inner and outer surfaces from scratches. The shape has been fortified by textile and plaster during the creative process.
It weighs no more than half a kilo. The metal lock is stable and easy to open / close with one hand. It is a combination of blue jean straps and a belt clasp, which, of course, makes it suitable for wearing with blue jeans on a daily walk. The shutter is attached to the body of the purse by blue jean straps as well. On the inside, there is a collage, made of fashion magazines. The handle is 130 centimeters long, but you can adjust it to you height and according to your preferences.
The handle is made of black leatherette. It is replaceable. In this nice little purse you can put all your keys, a smartphone, small change or a wallet, plus may be some lipstick and there will be space for a few condoms as well. Women will envy you for this purse.

Още една от нашите “каменни” чанти. Този път наподобява метеорит. Ръчно изработена и уникална, като всички неща, които правим. Отне ни дълго време процеса по моделиране на тази чанта, но резултатът си заслужаваше – колко души могат да си закачат метеорит на рамото?
Получи се спретнато, елегантно, секси чанте. Много подходящо е за излизане в клубове, за ходене по барове и за вечери в ресторант – местата, където искаш да бъдеш различна и да си забелязана. По-малка е от останалите ни “каменни” чанти. Размерите й са 20 см x 12 cм x 17 cм. Метеоритите изгарят в атмосферата, затова доминиращият цвят е от различни нюанси на сивото.
Чантата-метеорит е водоустойчива и издържлива. Ще й се радвате дълго, ако я пазите. Това значи да не я блъскате с всички сили в стената, да не сядате върху нея и да не я давите в пералнята. Подсилена е с текстилни нишки, гипс и пластификатори по време на изработката, за здравина. Повърхностите са покрити с акрилен лак (отвътре и отвън), който допълнително ги предпазва от одрасквания.
Тежи не повече от половин килограм. Металната закопчалка е удобна за отваряне и затваряне с едната ръка. Използвали сме комбинация от дънкова лента и катарама от колан за закопчалката, което прави чантата изключително подходяща и за носене с дънки навън през деня. Самият капак също е прикрепен здраво с дънкови ленти към нея. Във вътрешната има колаж от модни списания.
Дължината на дръжката е около 130 сантиметра и може да се регулира по височина. Направена е от изкуствена кожа. Лесно можете да я замените и с друга по собствен избор, когато решите. В чантичката-метеорит се побират: ключовете, смартфона, портмонето, документи, дъвки, може би някакво червило и дори ще ви остане още място за презервативи. Всички жени ще ви завиждат за тази чанта!

This paper woven amphora (vase) is made of reused paper: mainly bulk / junk mail, ad magazines, brochures, flyers and other paper spam. Rolled paper weaving technique. The colors are from the reused paper materials, no additional paint is added. The amphora is covered with transparent, non-toxic glue for solidity, flexibility and durability. Although water resistant, it is not suitable for direct sinking of real flowers in it. But you can hide a glass bottle, a jar or another water container in it, so that you can use it as a real vase.
It is also suitable for home decoration, as an accessory for the interior and / or as a vase for artificial flowers. Very beautiful in combination with sunflowers and other larger plants. A perfect gift for new home owners, for the interior design of studios, creative offices and living spaces. 49 centimeters high. In its widest part the vase is 30 cm in diameter.

Everywhere you go with this bag, people’s attention will be drawn to it. Strangers will knock on it, in order to see if it’s made of real stone. Friends will ask you: Where did you get this from? Is it heavy? You will attract puzzled looks on the streets, at airports and in train stations. Kids will want to play with it. Men will ask you to lift it, in order to see how heavy it is. Women will envy you.
No one will ever have the same bag as you, because it is one and only in this world: totally handmade, unique in shape, made of several different materials, water-resistant, non-flexible, hard as a stone, but not heavier than any leather purse.

After the Wake Up Open Air Festival that we had attended last week, this weekend the Sun was again with us – this time in the little and cozy town of Varshets. “GG Ssisters” were privilleged to be among the few of the artists, invited to take part in this workshop. It was full of positive emotions again. Littlte and grown up kids were eager to learn something new and interesting about our technique, which we were more than happy to share, of course! The sun was also there – it’s presence was enough for us to spend a wonderful day outside. The fun and excitement that you get at events like this are hard to explain, so here are some pictures:
We got interviewed again, but this time we don’t know from which television. We still don’t have the habit to ask. We didn’t pay enough attention to the logo under the microphone. We did not see ourselves on the TV screen that day, neither did we find any reportage in the TV programs. May be you can send us a clip or a link? We spent the evening with the music of “Eventually” – a very nice band and very sweet people. They also took part in the workshop. I think it was a good weekend getaway, combined with some nice handywork by the GGs, while meeting with lots of new friends. On the way back we took two hitch-hikers (Kalina and Itso) – great folks! We are still expecting those sunrise fotos from them.
